Bobby Sanabria & Sexteto Ibiano New Year’s 2018

It was a treat to once again bring in the New Year at BMHC Lab playing with Bobby Sanabria & Sexteto Ibiano. The abundance of love in the air was tangible and sometimes overwhelming. The Bronx Music Heritage Center is committed to preserving and promoting Bronx music, cultivating Bronx artists, spurring neighborhood revival, and providing free cultural programs for the community. The Bronx is, and has been, home to many great musicians of just about every genre.

The band boasted several historical jazz and Latin-jazz masters!

  • Bobby Sanabria (Master of Ceremonies, drums, vocals)
  • Hiram “El Pavo” Remon (vocals, percussion)
  • Gene Jefferson (saxophone, flute, vocals)
  • Silvano Monasterios (piano, vocals)
  • Andy Eulau (bass, vocals)

…with two very special guests:

Bobby Sanabria & Quarteto Aché played at Clement’s Place in Newark NJ on Friday October 14, 2016. In tribute to the late Dr. Clement Alexander Price, who was the founder and director of the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience, Newark’s city historian, and a devoted fan of jazz, Clement’s Place features live music every second Friday of the month. It has very good natural acoustics and is a warm room with an intimate setting and helpful and friendly staff. This photo was taken at the end of a magical, musical, historical and memorable evening!
